Melissa Bering is the Chief Human Resources Officer at Child & Family Services, a Massachusetts-based nonprofit organization serving the behavioral health needs of individuals, children, and families. As CHRO, she leads enterprise-wide people strategy with a focus on culture, leadership effectiveness, workforce planning, organizational resilience, and employee experience. With more than 25 years of progressive human resources leadership experience, Melissa has guided organizations through transformational change, executive leadership transitions, organizational development, workforce strategy, and complex employee relations. She is recognized for pairing sound business judgment with genuine compassion, helping leaders make difficult decisions in ways that preserve trust, dignity, and connection. Melissa’s leadership philosophy is grounded in emotional intelligence, transparency, and the belief that how leaders communicate is as important as what they decide.
