The people operating model: What actually holds at scale
People operating models often look tidy on paper. Then the business grows, priorities collide, ownership gets blurry, and the model starts creating more drag than direction. This session looks at what actually holds at scale. How should work be split between business partners, centers of excellence, operations, and leaders across the business? Where does duplication creep in? What gets overbuilt in the name of maturity? And what should be simplified before the model slows decision-making down? This keynote will explore how People leaders are rethinking structure, ownership, and decision flow so the function can support a more complex business without becoming more complicated itself. Expect a practical look at what to clarify, what to stop carrying, and where the strongest People teams are building models that help the business move faster with more confidence. Key takeaways: - Understand where People operating models typically break as scale, complexity, and expectations increase. - Learn how to clarify ownership across the People function and the business without adding unnecessary layers. - Explore what leading teams are simplifying, redesigning, or stopping as they build models that hold under pressure.
