Keynote: No A**hole Policy: Building a culture where people thrive
Toxic behavior costs more than it earns: avoiding one toxic worker is worth about 2.4 times what a top-1% performer adds, and rudeness lowers effort and team performance. Eight practices combined with research and a tool, from a cost calculator and civility contract to an interview kit, exit process and culture dashboard. Leaders who hire for, enforce and measure civility protect people and results. Key takeaways: - Make better hiring decisions - Learn how to assess whether a candidate will strengthen the team’s culture, not just deliver results. - Spot problems earlier - Recognize behaviors that undermine psychological safety before they become accepted as “just how someone works". - Set a clearer standard - Leave with ideas for defining and communicating the behaviors you expect from everyone, including high performers.
